Today, Indian River County (IRC) released a paper survey in an effort to collect information from residents and businesses who do not have broadband or internet access in IRC. The paper survey is available in English and Spanish.

In July, IRC launched a digital survey on the availability and accessibility of broadband use by households and businesses. This paper survey will allow all residents to participate in this important study whether or not they have access to the internet.
“There are many areas of Indian River County where there is little or no access to internet services, which creates roadblocks for business expansion, applying for jobs, and keeping in touch with your family and friends,” said County Commissioner Susan Adams.
“By filling out this paper survey, you will help us understand what type of internet access you have or don’t have, how it works and what your household or business needs to be successful,” Adams added.
“The goal of the Broadband Internet Survey is to collect real-time data to identify gaps in access to quality high-speed internet in our community,” said Jason Brown, Indian River County Administrator.
“Together, with your input, we will work to improve internet options for our neighborhoods and business community and close the digital divide here in Indian River County,” Brown added.
Individuals and business with no access to internet can pick up a copy of the paper survey in Buildings A and B of the County Administration Complex (1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960).
Once the survey is completed, residents have the option to mail in or drop off the survey in drop boxes located in the lobbies of Buildings A and B of the County Administration Complex.

The data from the paper survey, along with the responses from the digital survey, will be incorporated into the County’s Broadband Feasibility Study, which will determine low-cost and effective ways to improve broadband infrastructure across Indian River County.
