SEBASTIAN – Florida is ranked second in Chief Executive magazine’s “Best and Worst States for Business” report.
The report shows Texas taking the No. 1 for the past 14 years. Florida ranked No. 2, then North Carolina, South Carolina, and Indiana.
CEO magazine ranked states based on a range of measures, including workforce, taxes & regulation, and living environment.
Florida is home to more than 19,000 manufacturing businesses that employ more than 330,000 workers.
The Orlando area leads the state with its advanced manufacturing sector based on its location near colleges and universities. Orlando is also near the Space Coast.
The worst states for business on the list are California, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The report says these states have a higher cost of living, taxes, and traffic.
