According to Wright Construction Group, the City of Sebastian Public Works Complex is near completion. The following is an update on the project.

Currently, they’re finishing the parking lots and roads and prepping for the finishing touches on the site.

“The doors arrived and are being installed, along with the ceiling. With power projected to be installed in a couple of weeks, it will be the beginning of the end for the interior construction of the building. Flipping the switch on the AC and lights is right around the corner,” the company said in a statement.

Wright Construction Group, Inc., based in Fort Myers, partnered with BBSW Architects to provide design-build services for the new city fleet facility and public works offices, located at 1225 Main St. in Sebastian.

The Public Works Facility is adjacent to the Sebastian Municipal Airport and will have the ability to add an additional wing in the future.

The public works building is a pre-engineered metal building with a standing seam roof and insulated wall panels for maximum energy efficiency.

The back entrance of the building will be secured by automatic gates and can be accessed by authorized personnel with card readers. Employee and public parking areas will be on-site and electric vehicle charging stations will be incorporated into the project. The fueling station underground storage tank is installed, and the fueling island is nearing completion.
