SEBASTIAN, Florida – Joyce A. Myers passed on December 8, 2017, in Washington DC after a brief illness.
Myers was born on January 23, 1921, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana where she graduated St. Joseph’s Academy as class valedictorian.
In the late 1950’s her family relocated to Florida where she spent most of her adult years in the Melbourne and Sebastian area. She built a successful career as an executive assistant and administrator rising through the ranks in corporate management.
In later years she had the opportunity to develop her artistic talent by becoming a prolific painter, producing hundreds of mostly landscape and still life paintings that she sold and gave to friends and family. Her paintings can be found hanging in businesses and homes up and down the Florida east coast.
She served as president of the Barefoot Bay Art Guild during her most productive years, the 1980’s and 90’s.
Ms. Myers is survived by her son Kenneth Klink, daughters Karen and Kathleen Klink, three grandsons and one great-grandson. Her son Dennis pre-deceased her.
A gathering to remember her will be held on March 4, 2018, at the Mo-Bay Grill, 1401 Indian River Drive, Sebastian, Florida from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
