VERO BEACH, Florida – A 48-year-old woman was arrested for DUI after a caller contacted the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and said the driver kept vomiting in the middle of U.S. Highway 1 in Sebastian.
Tara Pribula of Vero Beach was followed by the caller who saw her vomiting on the side of the road near Schumann Drive. The subject then got back into her vehicle and drove just south on U.S. Highway 1.
The caller said the vehicle was “serving in and out of traffic.” Pribula then pulled the vehicle into the median and was seen vomiting a third time in the middle of U.S. Highway 1.
Pribula was then back in her vehicle driving south towards Vero Beach. A deputy located her and followed Pribula as she turned west onto 77th Street from U.S. 1.
As she was being followed, the deputy observed her running “off the road as she made her turn.” Pribula then exited her vehicle, stumbling out of her seat as she exited, according to the report.
The deputy made contact with the subject and said her speech was “very slurred.”
When asked if she had anything to drink, she replied “yes, 3 Vodka’s straight,” the report said. Pribula explained that she left a bar in Sebastian and was heading home when she was stopped.
After conducting some field sobriety tests, the deputy determined that Pribula was under the influence.
Pribula was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where she was charged with DUI.
