Vero Beach Student Brings Airsoft Gun On School Bus

VERO BEACH, Florida – A 13-year-old Gifford Middle School student if facing juvenile charges after bringing an airsoft gun onto a school bus in Vero Beach.

The bus driver made the discovery and immediately notified the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived at the scene near U.S.1 and 45th Street.

The airsoft gun was confiscated by deputies. The object is banned on all Indian River County school property because it looks like a real gun.

A spokesman for the Indian River County School District said the student did not threaten anyone and no students were in danger. The school day was not disrupted.

School officials are handling disciplinary measures.
