VERO BEACH, Florida – The Vero Beach Police Department is currently investigating three separate incidents of criminal mischief at a local church.

On April 9th, April 10th, and April 12th, officers responded to Christ by the Sea, 3755 A1A, in reference to criminal mischief complaints involving large rocks being thrown through the church’s stained-glass windows.

Then, on April 14, an employee of the Church called the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office to report a broken window at his home.

Someone had thrown a large metal conduit, approximately a foot, and a half in length with wires protruding out of one end, against a window on the second floor of the employee’s home.

A teenager was playing video games at the time of the incident and heard a loud bang. He turned around and saw glass shattered everyone in the room.

The victim’s back yard is approximately thirty yards from 17th Lane SW, which the back of their residents backs up to.

The employee advised that he works for the Christ by the Sea Church and the building has been having issues with someone breaking the stained glass windows of the Church. He stated that he is unsure who is breaking the glass but is worried now that his house window might be from the same people involved.

If you have any information regarding these incidents in Vero Beach, please contact the Detective Brad Kmetz at (772) 978-4660 or (772) 978-4600.
