VERO BEACH, Florida – A cold front will be moving through Indian River County this week bringing lower temperatures to the upper 40s on Wednesday for Sebastian, Fellsmere, and Vero Beach.

According to the National Weather Service forecasters, expect the rain from Sunday to continue through Monday and parts of Tuesday before the cold front.

Overnight lows are expected to be around 47 degrees in Indian River County, possibly 1 or 2 degrees colder in Fellsmere. The weather should be warmer by Friday.

It’s been a mild winter in Vero Beach this year, although no complaints about the cooler temperatures. Many Sebastian residents who usually cover their plants this time of year are thankful for the above-freezing temperatures.

The coldest temperature for the county this year was 34 degrees in Vero Beach on January 31. Even so, that’s still slightly above freezing.

The weekend weather was warm for boaters in Sebastian at the famous sandbar. The water was clear and the sun was beaming.

While it will be cooler this weekend, Saturday may warm up to near 80 degrees again. Until the, we’ll keep an eye on it.
