VERO BEACH, Florida – A man who became unruly while seeing a doctor at Indian River Medical Center says the ER staff stole is “spice,” according to the report.

Deputies were called to the hospital on Wednesday morning when a man refused to leave the Emergency Room.

William Daniel Robertson showed up at the ER to be treated but became unruly with a doctor. When he refused to leave, the staff called the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

At one point, Robertson did leave the hospital but returned a short time later.

“Robertson started screaming that the staff stole his ‘spice’ and he wanted it back,” the deputy said.

When the staff told Robertson he never brought “spice” with him to the hospital, he began to cause a scene and wouldn’t leave. It took two deputies to detain Robertson and escort him out of the hospital.

“Spice” is not a single drug, but a range of laboratory-made chemicals that mimic the effects of THC, the primary psychoactive component of cannabis.

Robertson was charged with Resisting Arrest; he was trespassed and transported to the Indian River County Jail.
