VERO BEACH, Florida – A Vero Beach woman called law enforcement after receiving a threat from her ex-boyfriend that he was going to kill her if she didn’t drop a court case against him, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived and spoke with the victim who said her ex-boyfriend, identified as 35-year-old Jason Roberet Mammolito, threatened to kill her Tuesday night.

While talking to the victim, Mammolito called the victim and she placed the call on speaker.

“I will not let you sleep, if I can’t have you no one can, you need to drop this new boyfriend and get back with me, you need to drop the case against me,” Mammolito told the victim, according to the report.

The victim then told Mammolito she would not drop the case, at which time he began making threats on the phone.

“I am going to kill you tonight, I will burn your trailer down with you inside tonight, I will not stop calling you, I will not stop coming to your trailer, I will kill you tonight,” Mammolito told the victim, the report said.

An extensive search of the area was initiated, which involved several deputies and a sheriff’s helicopter. While the search was underway, the victim called law enforcement to report Mammolito was at her residence and broke out a rear window while she was in bed.

The helicopter found Mammolito hiding in the woods nearby the residence. Deputies placed him under arrest.

“That’s my girl and I will not allow anyone else to be with her,” Mammolito told a deputy after his arrest.

The victim is “deathly afraid” of Mammolito and firmly believes that he will harm her and anyone that she is with, according to the affidavit.
