SEBASTIAN, Florida – Indian River County deputies responded to a disturbance at the Sebastian Inn and Suites after a guest was threatening people with violence.

Several victims said Willie Morris Dockett, a guest at the hotel, was threatening other customers by telling them he was going to, “knock their bit– ass– out.” Dockett allegedly repeated these words to other guests each time he would come out of his room.

Several witnesses met with deputies as they arrived on the scene. As witnesses pointed to Dockett’s room on the second floor, deputies spotted the suspect making his way towards the stairs. Deputies advised him that he wasn’t free to leave due to the investigation.

As Dockett was heading back to his room, he yelled, “racist mother-f——” loudly with 14 to 20 people downstairs with children present. The suspect then made a reference to not shooting him.

Police spoke with Dockett and soon placed him under arrest. But the suspect resisted and yelled loud as deputies put him against a wall. The suspect then began to head-butt the wall knocking off a globe of the outside light fixture.

Dockett started kicking the deputies and forced them backward, allegedly bending a handrail on the second floor. When deputies threatened to taser the suspect, Dockett quickly calmed down and was placed under arrest.

Once inside the police cruiser, the suspect started banging his head against the cage divider. He was treated for a cut on his forehead at the jail.

The suspect said the handrail damage was already present before the scuffle with deputies, but the manager of the hotel said it happened during the arrest.

Lockett was charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He is currently in the Indian River County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
