SEBASTIAN, Florida – The Sebastian Police Department received a call from Walmart about two suspects walking out of the store without paying for a DVD player, earphones, and several DVDs.
Officers made contact with Walmart’s loss prevention officer who recognized the female subject as the suspect of a previous incident involving two GPS’s, a vacuum cleaner, and other items.
Amanda Muhlenberg, and her husband, Andrew Muhlenberg, were identified as the suspects.
Amanda was observed removing a security device from a DVD player and placing it with a set of earphones in her purse.
Andrew concealed three unopened DVDs in his pants pockets.
Police made contact with the subjects at the grocery exit after Amanda and Andrew exited all points of sale without paying for the merchandise.
Andrew told police they had no intention of paying for the items. They were going to take the DVD player and other items to watch movies with their children.
Since Amanda was arrested on a previous incident, Walmart only pursued charges against Andrew.
Andrew Muhlenberg was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where he was charged with retail theft.
