SEBASTIAN, Florida – On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 shortly after 6:00 a.m, a white female and black male entered a residence in the 100 block of Kildare Drive through the back sliding door and struck a male resident in the head with an unknown object. While in the residence the suspects stole the victim’s keys and wallet.

The suspects then fled the residence through the front door and stole his 2004 silver in color Honda Pilot from the driveway. The victim retrieved his firearm from within the residence and fired one round at the fleeing suspects. At this time, it is unknown if the bullet hit either of the suspects.

An older model silver Grand Marquis was left at the residence, which does not belong to the victim.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries.

“Detectives are actively investigating this incident,” said Chief Michelle Morris. “At this time, we are communicating with other agencies in the area to compare details that we have with similar incidents that have occurred elsewhere.”

The Sebastian Police Department is asking the public to be vigilant in locking their homes and vehicles and to report any suspicious activity immediately.

Anyone with information on the identity of the subjects is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Todd Finnegan at 772-589-5233 ext. 8521 or call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at (800) 273-8477. You can receive cash for crime tips and remain completely anonymous.
