About Cyber Monday 2017

Cyber Monday caps the Thanksgiving weekend shopping sprees following Black Friday.

However, retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart started taking notice of this day as Internet use increased dramatically in the early 2000s.

By 2005, the National Retail Foundation finally designated the Monday after Thanksgiving, when online sales spiked, as Cyber Monday.

When holiday shoppers got tired of lines, they looked for deals online, which eventually turned into Cyber Week because retailers extended the sales.
