SEBASTIAN, Florida – A woman contacted law enforcement after she was allegedly beaten on a boat that was anchored near the dock at Captain Hiram’s, according to the Sebastian Police Department.

The incident occurred Tuesday at 3:00 a.m. when the woman called police after her boyfriend, 53-year-old Brian Leroy Bieber of Vero Beach, punched her several times on a boat named “The Outrageous,” the report said.

“I observed a large amount of swelling on [the victim’s] right eye, and blood on her left ear and hair. EMS was then called to the scene,” the officer said.

The victim stated that she and Bieber have been in a relationship for several years and were spending the night on a boat, which was anchored near the dock of the Captain Hiram’s Resort.

The woman said an argument occurred after she questioned Bieber about some women he had been talking to, the report said. She stated the two had been drinking alcoholic beverages and Bieber became angry. The victim said Bieber then “proceeded to strike [her] several times in the face with a closed fist,” the affidavit said.

Bieber then told the victim to leave the boat. She took a smaller boat to shore to Captain Hiram’s where she called law enforcement. The victim was transported to the Sebastian River Medical Center for treatment.

Sebastian Police launched their Marine 1 unit and traveled to the boat’s location where they questioned Bieber about the incident.

“When I made contact with Bieber, I observed a laceration and dried blood on his face. When I asked Bieber how he sustained the injury, he stated he did not know,” the officer said.

Bieber told police that the two had been drinking and arguing, which then turned physical. He was arrested for Battery Domestic Violence and transported to the Indian River County Jail.

Bieber was released Wednesday morning on $2,000 bond.
