MICCO – On Monday morning, a Barefoot Bay maintenance worker called the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office after he found a body next to a vehicle.

The body was found in a park area east of the lake, near what residents call “Building A.”

“The death was ruled a suicide by investigators,” Sheriff’s spokesman Officer Tod Goodyear told Sebastian Daily.

Residents saw a vehicle parked near the lake as law enforcement officials removed a body in a black bag. We spoke to several residents who live in the vicinity.

“I woke up this morning and saw the area taped off,” said Angie, a Barefoot Bay resident. “Then I saw them remove a body. This is terrible.”

We reached out to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Goodyear told us that the “victim was a 30-year-old, white male who lived in Indian River County.”

The man did not live in Barefoot Bay since he lived in Indian River County. All we know is that he was 30 years old and drove a black SUV.

Prayers going out to the family.
