STUART, Florida – A 13-year-old Stuart Middle School student was arrested on Tuesday morning and is now facing a felony charge for carrying a weapon on school premises.

According to officials the teenager was planning on using the knife in a fight with another student.

The student told others at the school that he was going to use the knife if he got into a fight.

School officials found the weapon on the young boy after another student came forward and told staff.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office processed the student on Tuesday afternoon. However, we’re not sure where he was taken after that.

Principal David Krakoff sent out an email reassuring parents that they should not be worried.
