LAKE WORTH – Upon performing a welfare check in the 6200 block of Barton Creek Court gated Winston Trails neighborhood on Saturday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 56-year-old Steven Anthony Guarnieri.

The welfare check was for his ex-wife, Nancy Guarnieri, who deputies found deceased at the scene, in which he was present.

After Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and Crime Scene Unit investigated the scene, they charged Guarnieri with First Degree Premeditated Murder.

He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, and on Sunday he went in front of Judge Edward Artau, who denied his bond.

There has been no word on who called in the welfare check.
