MELBOURNE, Florida – Police received a call from a seven-year-old girl and a twelve-year-old boy about their “drunk” 41-year-old mother on Halloween night.

According to Lt. T.A. Turner of the Melbourne Police Department, the mother, identified as Shaun Marie Orlos, was located in her vehicle in a parking lot on Wickham Road.

Police said the car was still running and Orlos was sitting in the driver’s seat. When officers made contact with her, they noticed she was slurring her speech, had bloodshot eyes, and smelled of alcohol.

Orlos exited her vehicle but had a difficult time standing without leaning on it, according to authorities. She refused to do field sobriety tests and submit to a breath test.

Orlos was arrested for DUI. It was then determined that she also had a suspended license and two other prior arrests for DUI. Orlo’s most recent DUI conviction was September 2014.

Orlos was booked and transported to the Brevard County Jail where she was charged with Felony DUI and two counts of Child Neglect.
