PENSACOLA – A Florida Pastor and 22 other men were arrested earlier this month during a child sex sting called “Operation Undertow” that took place from Sept. 7–11.

Multi-agency, including the Pensacola Police Department, set up the sting using undercover agents on websites to target predators who were attempting to meet children for sex.

David Donald Hoppenjan, 52, was the Senior Pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Pace since last year. According to reports, the married father of two contacted and traveled to meet, what he thought was a 14-year-old boy at two different locations.

Each man could face five years to life behind bars, depending on the charges, according to State Attorney William Eddins.

We called the First United Methodist Church of Pace, for a quote, but no one would answer. There are no signs of Hoppenjan anywhere on their website.
