LAKE COUNTY, Florida – The Lady Lake Police Department stopped a vehicle after it was driving the wrong direction on a Florida road.

Joanna E. McDanial, 35, was spotted driving a tan Toyota Van in the wrong direction in Spanish Springs, according to the arrest report.

When the police officer asked McDaniel if she had been drinking, she held up a 12-ounce can of Michelob Ultra, confirming the officer’s suspicion.

The officer then asked her to perform a field sobriety exercise, but McDaniel asked, “Can’t I just call a ride? I’m sorry for driving on the wrong side of the road.”

McDaniel refused to provide a breath sample and demanded a lawyer. She also refused to sign any citations or paperwork.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail.

McDaniel had a previous DUI conviction in Georgia.
