Young was interviewed at the hospital once he was released from medical care. He admitted to consuming alcohol from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and was driving in the area because he was looking for I-95.

His speech was slurred, and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. He refused to perform field sobriety tests when asked and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and causing a crash with property damage and injuries.

Young was transported to the Indian River County Jail without incident.
