VERO BEACH – A 42-year-old woman was arrested in Vero Beach after she grabbed her husband’s crotch while spitting in his face and asked, “how does that feel,” according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received the call yesterday about a disturbance at a home in Vero Beach.

Once arrived, law enforcement saw the victim picking up Halloween decorations in the front yard while a woman was speaking with him.

The woman, identified as Jessica Dannielle Veress, was asked to go into the house while deputies spoke with the victim.

Veress told deputies, “that’s fine, I’ll just go and get my witnesses.”

The man explained that he’s going through a divorce with Veress and that they have a child in common. As he was putting the Halloween decorations away, the victim asked Veress how her day was when she returned from the beach.

Veress replied, “if you were a part of this family more, you would know better” and then grabbed him by the crotch and patted the victim on his back stating, “how does that feel,” according to the report.

The victim said he tried to get away, but she shoved him backward and slapped him before spitting on her soon to be ex-husband.

Deputies then made contact with Veress who said she didn’t intentionally spit on him, but was yelling so much that saliva came out and hit the victim’s face.

Veress also advised she did grab the victim by his crotch area and patted him on the back stating “how do you like that,” the report said.

Veress was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where she was charged with Battery Domestic Violence.
