VERO BEACH – The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a reckless driver on U.S. Highway 1 in Vero Beach.

A deputy responded to the call and observed a silver Nissan Altima that matched the description. The vehicle was sitting in a parking lot.

As the deputy approached, he saw the driver “licking a marijuana cigarette,” according to the report. When the driver noticed the deputy, he dropped the marijuana cigarette on his lap.

The driver was identified as Maurice St. Germain, 25. The deputy asked if he was driving earlier on U.S. Highway 1, to which he replied “yes.”

St. Germain was then asked what he was doing, and stated, “What does it look like,” according to the report. He then held the marijuana cigarette up to show the deputy.

St. Germain was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where he was charged with marijuana possession.
