SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian Police Department received a call last night from the 200 block of Barbossa Drive in reference to a woman holding a knife.
Upon arrival to the Sebastian residence, the victim told officers he had been in a verbal altercation with his live-in girlfriend, identified as 53-year-old Katie Healy.
During the altercation, the victim left their bedroom and went into a guest bedroom.
Healy then entered the guest bedroom with a large kitchen knife in her hand and yelled at the victim, according to the report.
“The defendant had the knife in a raised position and yelled at [the victim] to get out of the bedroom because she had the room ready for guests that were coming,” the officer said in the report.
The victim said he feared for his safety and fled the residence out the back door and contacted police.
The victim recorded the altercation on his phone, which the officer heard Healy yelling at the victim to leave the room.
Also on the recording was the victim asking Healy to put the knife away, which she can be heard saying “no.”
Healy admitted to having a knife, but said she wasn’t going to use it.
“When asked why she had a knife when all she wanted was for him to get out of the guest room, the defendant responded that [the victim] could be stubborn,” the report said.
Healy was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where she was charged with Felony Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
