SEBASTIAN – A man yelled obscenities through his truck window at a police officer last Friday night as he was driving on Sebastian Boulevard, according to the report.
“Hey bit**! I know you want me! You pus** a** bit**, come on,” the man shouted to the officer driving next to him.
The man also stuck up “his middle finger” at the officer several times through the driver side window and the open rear back middle window of the truck, the report said.
“Yeah, I know you’re after me! You know where I stay! Come see me,” the man shouted.
The officer conducted a vehicle registration check on the truck and found out the driver had an expired driver’s license.
As the man attracted the officer’s attention, police made a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, later identified as Christopher Thomas Farless of Sebastian.
Farless, 34, threw his keys out the window and continued to put his “middle finger in the air” as the officer approached the truck.
When the officer asked for his driver’s license, registration, and insurance, Farless stated, “Oh, I got something for you” before reaching for his glove compartment while smoking a cigarette.
“Oh, I forgot, it’s FU** YOU FRIDAY! I don’t have to give you sh**,” he yelled while waving a cigarette around, according to the report. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from inside the truck.
“I asked Farless again to provide me with the items I requested only to have Farless argue with me stating that he knows his rights,” the officer said. Farless was then ordered out of the vehicle multiple times, which he refused. Eventually, Farless was placed into custody.
Another officer arrived at the scene and said he stopped Farless earlier in the night and informed him not to drive because his license was suspended.
Police found beer cans and marijuana in the vehicle.
“Farless advised that due to his Muslim religion he does not smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, or use drugs, so the recovered paraphernalia and beer cans were not his,” the officer said.
Farless, who told police he works as an engineer, said that it’s ok for him to possess marijuana because he has a medical marijuana card he obtained in Palm Bay, the report said.
According to the charges, police arrested him for Resisting Arrest and transported him to the Indian River County Jail. The officer issued him a ticket for driving with an expired driver license.
Farless was later released on $500 bond.
