SEBASTIAN – A man who drank fireball whiskey all day threatened to burn his house down, according to the Sebastian Police Department.
Gary W. Moore was charged with Assault Domestic Violence during a disturbance at his home located at the 1300 block of Damask Lane in Sebastian.
The incident started with Moore called his wife Saturday night to pick him up near a pond at Winn-Dixie. The wife told deputies that her husband had been drinking fireball whiskey all day, the report said.
“When she made contact with him near the pond, he was intoxicated to an extent that he fell into the pond,” the deputy said.
The wife helped Moore into her car, but then he “began to scream and curse at her” when she refused to have sex with him.
Once home, Moore continued to curse and scream at his wife and that he was going to “tear down the bedroom doors,” the affidavit said. A short time later, he tore down the bedroom doors.
Moore then stated “I’m going to burn the house down,” which the wife was fearful that he was going to “physically harm her and their children,” according to the report.
“She told her children at this time to contact police,” the officer said.
When officers arrived, they could tell Moore was intoxicated. He was uncooperative and belligerent to them while he continued to curse and scream at his wife,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Police said Moore was so irate with his wife that he got up suddenly and “walked toward her in a threatening manner” while pointing at her with his finger. Officers said he was acting as if he was going to strike her, the report said.
Moore was restrained and transported to the Indian River County Jail. He was released Monday afternoon on $500.00 bond.
Jail records show that Gary Moore was arrested last year for Battery Domestic Violence at the same home.
