SEBASTIAN – A 31-year-old woman was arrested on charges of battery domestic violence after a physical altercation with her boyfriend, according to the Sebastian Police Department.

On Wednesday at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Admiral Circle in Sebastian about a fight in progress, the report said.

Police spoke with the victim and Danielle Nicole DiGrazia at the home. The boyfriend said he was punched several times in the face by DiGrazia, and that their relationship has been on and off for several months.

“He later explained that they just recently returned home from Earl’s Hideaway from drinking at the bar. While he was trying to enter the home, the defendant became upset with him, blocking the door, refusing to let him enter,” the officer said.

Eventually, the boyfriend was able to walk past DiGrazia, but then she began striking him “in his face closed fisted,” the report said.

“While protecting himself, he dislocated his left pinky finger,” according to the officer.

A struggle ensued, and the boyfriend was able to move DiGrazia to the living room, according to the victim. He then exited the room and headed for the back porch area in their apartment.

However, DiGrazia followed him and tossed a metal chair, striking the boyfriend in the arm, as it was thrown across the porch.

Officers observed a scratch to the boyfriend’s eye and numerous cuts on both his arms, as well as a contusion to his left forearm.

DiGrazia, who told police she works as an insurance agent, was crying in the bedroom. Officers asked her about the incident and she remained quiet.

Police asked her about the right eye injury she had, and DiGrazia told them she fell. She was uncooperative with law enforcement and refusing to give any statements.

When officers asked the boyfriend about DiGrazia’s eye injury, he said he wasn’t sure how it happened.

DiGrazia was arrested on a charge of Misdemeanor Battery Domestic Violence and transported to the Indian River County Jail.
