VERO BEACH – On Thursday at approximately 12:00 am, a deputy was conducting a traffic stop in Vero Beach when he heard a woman screaming in distress from her residence, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy ran to the home at the 2100 block of 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach. Once at the residence, the deputy saw the garage door opening and a woman inside a Mercedes-Benz screaming. The vehicle was in reverse trying to leave and the deputy ordered the woman to put it in Park, the report said.

“I approached on the driver side and observed a completely naked female in the driver seat. The driver was advised to put the vehicle in park, and she complied,” the deputy said.

Cecilia Faure, 52, was sitting naked in the driver’s seat. She turned off the vehicle and threw the keys against a wall, the affidavit said.

The deputy smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her and observed an alcohol bottle near the driver side door of the vehicle, according to the report.

When asked to conduct a field sobriety exercise, Faure declined. She “refused to comply with all orders,” the report said. Faure wanted to leave, but the deputies told her she wasn’t free to go.

“She attempted to return back into her home. Faure was prevented from doing so and was advised to remain calm and listen to the orders that were being given to her,” the deputy said.

Faure became to curse at the deputies while refusing to comply with orders. She attempted to pull away from deputies and was arrested for resisting. While in the deputy’s cruiser, Faure attempted to spit on him.

After completing a few standard sobriety exercises at the Indian River County Jail, deputies determined she was impaired. She was charged with DUI. Faure refused to provide a breath sample.

According to jail records, Faure was also arrested in 2015 for DUI.
