VERO BEACH – On Saturday at approximately 9:55 p.m., a woman called law enforcement after one of her intoxicated sons punched her in the head, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
The mother told deputies said her sons, identified as 21-year-old Jordan Tyler Kifer and 27-year-old Michael Allen Kifer, were both intoxicated, the report said.
According to the mother, an argument started after she observed Jordan and Michael traveling by her residence in a vehicle at approximately 80 miles per hour.
“She stated that Michael and Jordan returned to the residence shortly following this, and she scolded them due to how dangerously they were driving in a residential area,” the deputy said.
The sons began to curse at her and then left the residence in the same vehicle at a high rate of speed. She said they were both intoxicated, according to the report.
Later in the evening, the two sons returned to the residence where she tried to separate herself from another argument. While proceeding to walk out the door, her son Jordan punched her in the head, the report said.
Deputies then made contact with Jordan. He admitted to punching her in the back of the head during the argument, according to the arrest affidavit.
The deputies then spoke with Michael who witnessed Jordan striking their mother in the head. The deputy then observed the grip of a firearm in the left pocket of his gym shorts, the report said.
After requesting a criminal history check, it was determined that Michael is a convicted felon and was arrested for Possessing the Firearm. Bond set at $10,000.
Jordan was arrested on a charge of Battery Domestic Violence. Bond set at $1,000.
As of Monday morning, both sons are still in the Indian River County Jail.
