VERO BEACH – A 47-year-old man was arrested at the Indian River Medical Center after grabbing a Deputy Sheriff’s crotch and causing a disturbance in the ER, according to the report.
On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., a man with one leg, identified as John Gray of Vero Beach, “hopped into the IRMC ER to seek treatment,” according to the arrest affidavit.
While in the waiting room, Gray was acting belligerently and yelling profanities at the hospital staff in front of other patients and their children, the report said.
Gray wanted to be seen immediately.
When it was his turn to be seen, Gray passed by a deputy and grabbed his crotch.
The deputy “pushed Gray off of him and ordered him not to touch him,” according to the arrest affidavit.
While waiting for the doctor in another room, Gray became impatient and said, “fu** this I’m leaving” and then went out into the parking lot. He denied all medical treatment.
Once outside, the deputy arrested Gray for battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.
His bond was set at $3,000.
