VERO BEACH – Indian River County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about car vandalism and a stolen tag in Vero Beach.

Officers met with the victim, Rometrius Hughes, who stated someone stole the license plate off his vehicle.

Deputies observed the vehicle with the missing license plate and noticed it was vandalized with several words carved in the paint.

The words “ass,” “cheater,” “fraud,” and “std” were seen on the car.

Police asked Hughs if he could think of anyone who may be angry with him, but “he could not provide any names,” according to the report.

The plate was entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen from Vero Beach.
