VERO BEACH – The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested a juvenile who stole $450.00 from her bank deposit so that he could buy marijuana.

Jennifer Sigmon said she arrived home from the store and asked her son to unload the groceries. She stayed in the house to put the items away as he brought them.

After that, Jennifer went to the bank to deposit cash into her account. As she arrived, Jennifer noticed half the money from her envelope was missing.

She returned home and asked her son. He admitted that he saw the cash in an envelope in the car and took $450.00 when he was unloading the groceries.

However, he wouldn’t tell her what he spent the money on. Jennifer called the police.

Deputies made contact with the juvenile who admitted he purchased marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams.
