VERO BEACH – On Wednesday, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a woman called law enforcement after one of her friends took her car keys away to prevent her from driving drunk, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.

Taylor Giblin, 22, wanted an officer to retrieve her car keys from a friend so she could drive home.

When police arrived at the Portales of Vero at 2855 Ocean Drive, they saw Giblin wearing a long sleeve shirt and a bikini. Giblin wasn’t wearing shoes and she had a cell phone under her right top bikini strap.

Giblin, who told police she works as a bartender, asked the officer to take her to her friend’s house so she could get her car and house keys.

“She did not know the address other than it was ‘by the country club,'” the officer said.

When the officer said he could call her a taxi, she responded “what the fu** good are you,” according to the report.

Giblin then called the officer a “fu**ing a**hole” for not taking her to retrieve her car keys. She then told the officer to go fu** himself.

The officer placed Giblin under arrest for disorderly intoxication. She struggled with the officer while he tried to place her in the patrol car, the report said.

On the way to Indian River County Jail, she banged her head several times on the plexiglass separator in the vehicle and continued to scream insults at the officer.

“Once at the county jail she was screaming uncontrollably. Several deputies had to come out to get her out of the patrol car,” the officer said.

Bond was set at $500.00. Giblin has since been released.
