On Thursday at approximately 1:00 a.m., a Barefoot Bay man was arrested after “smacking” his father and knocking him to do the ground, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 400 block of Egret Circle and spoke with the victim, who said his son, identified as 36-year-old Joseph Thomas Haskoor, hit him in the face and knocked him down to the floor, according to the affidavit.
The victim told deputies that the two were arguing and that his son “got mad and started yelling at him about his inheritance,” the deputy said.
At the same time, a woman exited the bedroom and observed Haskoor standing over the victim. She dumped a cup of water on him to “get him away” from his father. Haskoor then slapped the woman and then pulled her hair, the affidavit said.
Haskoor was charged with Battery Domestic Violence and Battery on a Person Over 65 Years of Age. He was transported to the Brevard County Jail, where his bond was set at $10,000.
