The Sebastian River High School competition cheer team has made it to nationals. Even though it was their first year competing, they won 1st place this past weekend at the Central FL Regional competition.

In February, they will be heading to Disney’s Wide World of Sports, and it will be televised on ESPN2. It is a prestigious competition to be invited to since high schools all over the country come to compete for the Nationals title.

“I am very proud of these athletes for their hard work and sweat to accomplish this milestone in our program,” stated Coach Celeste Howder.

It is expensive to attend Nationals at $365 per cheerleader.

So, to make this happen, the team needs the community’s support. Over the next few weeks, they will be at various locations around Sebastian collecting donations for their unexpected trip.

Donations can be made out to Sebastian River High School Cheer and dropped off at the high school between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

If your business would like to sponsor the Sebastian River High School Cheer Team, please contact coach Celeste Howder at [email protected] as money is due the first week of January.
