The Friends of St. Sebastian River will host their 2nd Annual Paddle Fest on the south prong of the St. Sebastian River on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, starting at the Sebastian Canoe Launch and ending at Dale Wimbrow Park.
The paddle fest is a fundraiser for the Friends of St. Sebastian River that will include prizes, a photo contest, and an optional lunch from Woody’s Bar-B-Q. The entry fee is $25 per person with your own paddle craft. The FSSR is a nonprofit organization, and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
If you have paddle craft and do not want to reserve lunch, you may pay for entry at the park upon arrival, but pre-registration is preferred.
Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards are welcome, and kayaks are available to rent at About Kayaks River Rentals. The fee is $45 for a single and $65 for a double kayak. Please get in touch with them directly to reserve by calling (772)589-3469.
The leisurely paddle from the Sebastian Canoe Launch to the park takes upwards of three hours. In lieu, you may launch from Dale Wimbrow and enjoy a leisurely paddle upstream.
Bring your camera along to participate in the photo contest. The prize for the winning photo, as chosen by our Board of Directors, is a pair of Costa sunglasses, and you will be featured on the Friends of St. Sebastian River Facebook page. Email your photos to mailto:email@example.com.
There will also be a drawing for a Yeti Roadie 24 cooler donated by Sea & Shoreline. All attendees will receive a chance to win.
The Woody’s Bar-B-Q lunch is optional and can be reserved for $15 per person; it includes pork, chicken, baked beans, and cole slaw. Water and soda will be provided. The deadline to reserve lunch is Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
